Who We Are
Dr. John Stansbury, DC FIAMA
John Stansbury was born in Chapel Hill, North Carolina and grew up down on the coast in Wilmington.
John originally thought he might like to pursue a career in electrical engineering, but after completing
an internship in high school, he felt called to find a path more directly involved in the business of caring
for other people. He considered several options, including studying traditional Western medicine or
entering the ministry as a member of the Episcopal Church, before being introduced to Chiropractic
by a friend. John graduated from NC State University in 2001 with a degree in Biological Sciences and
received his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, IA, in
2005. While at Palmer, John attended many extra-curricular seminars and received certifications in
Acupuncture and Applied Kinesiology, as well as additional education in Chiropractic Manipulative
Reflex Technique and the Brimhall Nutritional Wellness Protocol.
After moving back to Raleigh, John became an associate at Apex Family Chiropractic and Wellness
Center and worked with Dr. Donna King, DC. After three years, John decided it was time to take what
he had learned and start a more comprehensive wellness practice with the goal of helping people make
lasting, healthy choices for their lives. When he’s not in the office, John enjoys reading, movies, playing
video games, and tabletop roleplaying games with his friends.
